Early reactions to X-men first class screening.

No, no, I didn't screen X-Men first class, I'm still trying to climb the ladder of cool to get to that point. But the movie has been screened by some critics and so far, the reactions are very positive. their reactions and my thoughts after the jump...

....So after screening X-Men First Class on Saturday, it is being hailed by some critics as "The best since X2" and "It remembers where it comes from". All in all, those who have seen it so far like it.....apparently a lot. I find this news great simply because for me (And I think the franchise in general) there is alot riding on X-men first Class. The first 2 X-men movies were held in such high regard that Fox knew that they had a franchise on their hands, and we knew that X-Men on the big screen was just as bad ass as we wanted it to be. But X-Men: The Last Stand disappointed a lot of fans, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine disappointed...well....a lot more. So I felt a lot was riding on X-Men first Class. I kinda see this installment as the deciding factor of whether we'll talk about X-Men movies like "Those movies that kick ass!!....minus those two...", or "I hope they re-boot those movies". One could say that even though Captain America has a lot riding on its shoulders (Being the flag ship for the Avengers and all) more is riding on the shoulders of X-Men first class. The Avengers do after all have a few other movies to fall back on if God forbid Captain America does not live up to MERIKA!, But with 2 good movies and 2 shit movies, X-Men: First Class is the one that will tip the scale in either direction for the X-Men movies. And I for one could not be happier with news that it in fact does live up to the promises made in the trailer.

  6. Dude, awsame!

I pretty much injoy every X-Men flick thus far so I dont really see any reson why this would change that fact. Except maybe be for the absence of bad-ass Wolverine but stil, I can live with that...

  13. I hope its good, in my opinion this will be my final chance at the X-men movie franchise. Its seems though that they are all not regarding Wolverine since the Deadpool movie will have nothing to do with Wolverine (thank god) and Emma Frost was in Wolverine but she was like 15 and I think Wolverine takes place after this movie. So lets hope this movie is as good as X2. If not I think they just need to hire Solid Snake to write the scripts again.
