Behind the Scenes video of "The Hobbit" with peter Jackson

Now I know this video is about a month or so old, but what can I say, I am a sucker for Lord of the Rings related news and so a behind the scenes video for the Hobbit is just worth sharing. Lord of the Rings fans be warned; Hobbiton music and a cameo from the "Grey" himself  may cause you to share the reaction of the “Nintendo 64 Christmas kid”….on the inside anyways. Click the jump to share in this nerdgasm....

The Hobbit is being shot in 3D (Yeah, I know...) But is also being filmed in 48 frames per second as opposed to the standard 24 frames per second for standard cinema. This frame rate is said to make the 3D and the picture quality in general all sorts of out of this world. But 3D, 2D, or a live action rendition with sock puppets, whatever the case, one thing is for sure.....I can not wait for the Hobbit!

  4. Very encouraging to see they're using all the old sets. A huge part of the appeal for this movie will be a sort of nostalgia for fans.
